Wanted Harrogate man urged to hand himself in

19 September 2014

Police in Harrogate are appealing for the public’s help to locate a wanted man.
Kevin Robert Lewis, aged 31 and of Station Square, Harrogate, is wanted for recall to prison as he has breached the conditions of his release licence.
Lewis was sentenced to two years and four months’ imprisonment in March 2013, after being convicted of burglary.
He was released from prison in August 2014 but is suspected of committing a further offence and must return to custody.
Lewis is described as white, 5ft 11in tall, with a skinny build and dark brown, balding hair
It is believed Lewis is in the Harrogate area and he has links to the town centre.

Kevin-Lewis

Detective Sergeant Kevin Kelly, of Harrogate CID, said: Mr Lewis, if you see or hear this appeal, my advice is simple – hand yourself in.

By remaining at large you are only making the inevitable outcome worse for yourself and prolonging your stay in prison when we catch up with you.

I am asking members of the public who see Lewis to contact the police straight away.

Officers have already visited addresses in the Harrogate area which we know Lewis has links to and the efforts to locate him will continue until he is back in custody.

Lewis’ associates should know that harbouring an offender is a criminal offence and you face prison yourself if you are helping him to evade the police.

Anyone who sees Kevin Lewis, or knows where he is should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 1 – and pass information to the Force Control Room.

If you prefer not to give your name, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
