Charity soap box derby hits Valley Gardens

Harrogate Round Table are introducing a new event to their calendar this Bank Holiday Monday with a Gravity Race in the Valley Gardens.

10 teams will race home built engine-less go-karts down a course in the Valley Gardens in what promises to be a fantastic spectator event. Each team consists of 4 members who will do 2 runs each in a time trial format.

25 August 2014 – practice from 11am and timed runs from midday

Prizes will be awarded for:
1. Team raising the most sponsorship for good causes
2. Fastest single soap box time on the day
3. Best turned out soap box crew
4. Overall fastest team by aggregate
5. Overall most innovative design

All in all it promises to be a very entertaining day and we even have a children’s course for younger members of the audience to have a go!

All proceeds from team entry fees and sponsorship will go to charity which the Round Table will nominate.
