Cyclist dies following Kirkby Overblow collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist died in a road traffic collision near Kirkby Overblow.

It occurred at 1.40pm on Wednesday 13 August 2014, on Follifoot Lane, involving a cyclist and a pedestrian.

There were no other vehicles involved.

At the time in the incident the cyclist, a 77-year-old man from Leeds, was heading from the A658 towards Kirkby Overblow.

He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by air ambulance where he sadly died a short time later.

Polcie are not yet in a position to release his identity.

The pedestrian, a 72-year-old man from Harrogate, was taken to Harrogate District Hospital where he was treated before being released.

Traffic Sergeant Paul Cording, of the Force’s Roads Policing Group, said: If you have any information which could help my enquiries I urge you to contact the police straight away.
