Harrogate police hunt wanted man

25 July 2014

Police are searching for a man from Harrogate after he breached his prison release conditions.

Wayne Richard Porter, aged 28, was given a two year prison sentence for the possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.

The prison sentence commenced in February 2013 and he was released from prison in February 2014.

Porter is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, with a medium build and dark brown hair.

Although it is believed Porter is in the Harrogate area, he also has links in Humberside.

Detective Sergeant Kevin Kelly, of Harrogate CID, said: Wayne, if you see or hear this appeal, my advice is simple hand yourself in, we have a good track record of returning wanted people to prison.

By remaining at large you are only making the inevitable outcome worse for yourself.

I am also asking members of the public who see Porter to contact the police straight away.

Officers have already visited addresses to which Porter has links. These visits will continue until he is back in custody.

If you are shielding him you are not helping Porter, you are only making matters worse. In fact you may even be committing offences yourself and if so, you face the prospect of arrest and prosecution.

Anyone who sees Wayne Porter, should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1 and pass the information to the Force Control Room.

Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
