Woman receives life threatening injuries after being hit by cyclist in Pateley Bridge

A woman in her 60’s has suffered life threatening injuries after a cyclist collided with her in Pateley Bridge.

The incident, on the High Street, was at around 2.40pm on Tuesday 22 July 2014.

The woman has been taken to Harrogate District Hospital for treatment.

The cyclist, an 18-year-old man who was riding a blue racing bike in the direction of Summerbridge, sustained a cut to his right elbow in the incident.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them with information.

The road is currently closed in both directions as the police examine the scene of the incident.
