Harrogate stabbing incident

Harrogate police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was stabbed on Station Parade.

Just after 6pm on Friday 18 July 2014, Police received a report that a man has attacked another man with a knife near the taxi rank on Station Parade.

The victim, a local 27-year-old man suffered two stab wounds to his leg and was taken to Harrogate District Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A police officer who was patrolling nearby, chased after the suspect on foot and quickly arrested him, seizing a knife from him.

The man, who is aged 21 and from Harrogate was arrested on Station Parade and taken into police custody where he remains for questioning.

It is believed that the area was busy at the time of the incident and officers are appealing to anyone who was in Station Parade and saw what happened, to contact them if they have not already done so.
