Car stolen in Harrogate burglary

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a two-in-one burglary in Harrogate.

At around 4am hours on Thursday 10 July 2014 the occupant of a house on Bilton Lane was woken by the sound of his dog barking.

He went to investigate and discovered the rear kitchen door had been forced open before hearing a car start on the driveway.

He looked out of the window to see his son’s silver VW Polo being driven off the driveway turning right on to Bilton Lane, heading in the direction of Fountains Avenue.

The car was found abandoned nearby in Dene Park, Harrogate, at around 5.55am.

Also taken from the address was a black work satchel and a packet of cigarettes.

Officers are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident.
