Update following Crimewatch feature of Harrogate aggravated burglary

For those of you following the aggravated burglary at High Birstwith near Harrogate which was featured on BBC’s Crimewatch on Monday 2 June 2014, below are calls received following broadcast:

Detective Inspector Andrea Kell, said: We have received some encouraging calls, particularly about the stolen jewellery. These will be followed up over the coming days.

Anyone who has any information and has not yet got in touch is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police and ask for Harrogate CID. Or you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

On 6 December 2013, four masked men broke into the property at around 5.15pm and threatened a family with crowbars.

The men, who were of Asian appearance, took six shotguns, a rifle and a collection of expensive jewellery before leaving the scene in the family’s white Porsche 911, which they later abandoned on White Wall Lane, in Tang.

A reconstruction and appeal by family members, including their teenage son, was featured in the programme which was broadcast on 2 June 14.
