Horse rider verbally abused by motorist near to Pateley Bridge

Police are appealing for information after an incident of dangerous driving near to Pateley Bridge.
It occurred at 11.25am on Thursday 15 May 2014, on the B6265, Ripon to Pateley Bridge road, between the turning for Studley Roger and the junction for Galphay, close to the cricket ground.

A woman riding a horse gestured to the driver of a small dark saloon or hatchback car, heading out of Ripon, to slow down. The driver of the car stopped his vehicle before being verbally abusive towards the horse rider.

PC Gary Anderson, of Pateley Bridge Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: If you were travelling on the B6265 at the time of the incident and witnessed the incident I urge you to contact the police straight away.

I also need to speak to anyone who may have seen either the car or horse being ridden just prior to the report of dangerous driving and ask them to get in touch.
