Harrogate interiors specialist Richard Grafton has marked the firm’s second birthday with further expansion and the opening of a new showroom adjacent to its warehouse and workshop facility at Beech Avenue Business Park in Harrogate.
Managing director Richard Grafton said: The new 2,000 sq ft retail unit will allow us to show more choice of furniture, accessories, lighting, art and design, and represents around £50,000 of additional investment.
The new showroom will supplement the firm’s 3,000 sq ft three storey base on The Ginnel in Harrogate where its 10-strong team of designers, sales staff and administrators are located.
The £1m turnover business was launched by Richard Grafton in April 2012. It has grown both organically and by the acquisition of another interiors business. It also launched sister-company Grafton Freestone that specialises in bedroom and wet room design and installation, as well as architectural interiors projects.
Richard added: In 2013 we secured a prestigious and exclusive deal to stock the US designer brand Ralph Lauren Home range of furniture, and that put even more pressure on us to display as many products as possible to customers. We have worked really hard to keep rotating our stock, but we really have felt the need for some extra space since the spring collections came through and a second showroom was the natural solution.
Our clients want more distinctive and unusual interiors items and furniture that we source from all over Europe and the USA, and this additional space allows us to offer more room sets and design inspiration.
The new showroom will also allow our clients, who come from across the North, to touch and feel certain larger items that simply wouldn’t be practical to have on show at The Ginnel. We won’t have to be quite so selective with which items we choose to display with the extra space,
The business plans further expansion during 2014 as its client list continues to grow.
