Organisers expect up to 1,500 visitors for 10th anniversary event

16 April 2014

Final preparations are being made for the 2014 Yorkshire Business Market, which takes place on Monday, 28 April 2014.

More than 100 businesses will be exhibiting, leading seminars and holding networking sessions – and up to 1,500 visitors are expected on the day.

The organisers are putting the finishing touches to the plans for the eight rooms at Pavilions of Harrogate which will be full of activity throughout the day. Harrogate Chamber of Trade and Commerce has invited the Mayor of Harrogate, Coun Michael Newby, to welcome guests before the event is opened at 10am by Andrew Jones, MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough.

Chamber President Sandra Doherty said: The variety of businesses exhibiting this year is really impressive. The organisations taking part include accountants, chiropractors, engineers, universities, trainers and business coaches, as well as several local and regional charities.

Some new, growing businesses of just one or two employees are taking the chance to raise their profile, and there are also larger companies with established brands taking part, including Bettys, Harrogate International Centre and the University of Leeds’s Business School.

From what I’ve heard, some of the exhibitors are going to be very creative with their stands this year, so visitors are going to be in for a few surprises!

YBM-aislesA full seminar programme is in place, running across three rooms throughout the day, with experts offering top tips on everything from using social media for business to dealing with auto-enrolment pensions. Meanwhile, two dedicated networking rooms will offer visitors the chance to meet other business leaders – and try networking groups EBN, GiveBackWorks and Catalysts for free.

Chamber Chief Executive Brian Dunsby said: Whether you’re looking for business advice from experts on a huge range of topics, or you just want to make as many new contacts as possible, you can do it all under one roof at Yorkshire Business Market.

It’s completely free for business visitors to attend and it is always a very busy, positive day for everyone who takes part. We’re looking forward to another great event to mark the 10th year of the Yorkshire Business Market.

Business visitors can register on the day by bringing along a business card or letterhead. However, anyone who registers in advance through EventBrite can avoid the queues and use the pre-registered check-in desk to collect their badge and get straight into the Business Market.
