International IATEFL conference comes to Harrogate

26 March 2014

The International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL) is a vibrant teaching association and membership organisation that connects over 4000 English Language Teachers and professionals from around the world.

The IATEFL annual conference focuses on the professional development of teachers, teacher trainers and other English language professionals.

This year’s IATEFL Conference takes place from 2 – 5 April at the Harrogate International Centre (HIC) and looks set to be the largest in the Associations 47 year history and to continue to uphold its reputation as being one of the biggest international ELT conferences in the world. We expect to match our numbers from last year when more than 2,600 delegates from around the globe travelled to join us in Liverpool.

Carol Read, IATEFL’s President said: we’re excited to be hosting delegates from over 115 different countries including many world-class presenters who will talk about the latest innovations in the English language teaching field.

This year’s impressive line-up includes over 500 talks, workshops and seminars and a vibrant social programme. Also on site will be a large ELT exhibition showcasing the latest courses, digital developments, and materials and IATEFL Jobs Market, one of the key recruitment fairs in ELT. Both are free of charge to the general public.

IATEFL is a registered charity and offers over 30 scholarships for attendance at conference. This year the winners come from all over the world, including, Africa, China, Latin America and Europe. Those interested in applying for our Manchester 2015 scholarships can find details on our website www.iatefl.org later in April.
