MP sent packing for local charity

17 March 2014

Harrogate & Knaresborough MP, Andrew Jones, joined a team of queue busters at Harrogate’s ASDA store on Bower Street at the weekend to raise money for the Citizen’s Advice Bureau (CAB). The event is a firm fixture in the CAB’s fundraising calendar.

Andrew is a regular supporter of Harrogate CAB’s events and was patron of their office move project which culminated in brand new purpose-built offices for the organisation on Queensway behind the cinema.

Andrew worked with the CAB team packing bags at the checkout.

Andrew commented: I was pleased to help because Harrogate’s CAB is a very good cause with whom I work closely to resolve issues which constituents and local organisations raise. That joint working on problems delivers good results for individuals and the community.

It was also nice to speak to so many people in what certainly looked like a very busy Saturday morning for the supermarket. There wasn’t a quiet moment all the time I was there.
