Search extends to Northallerton area for missing 17-year-old Leyburn boy

Police have extended their search to find missing Charles Iveson, 17, from Leyburn, to the Northallerton and Leeming area.

Missing Charles Iveson, 17, from Leyburn has been found safe in Northallerton this morning (14 March 2014).

Charles-IvesonOvernight enquiries lead officers to believe that Charles caught a bus to the Bedale on Thursday morning, and that indicated that he wanted to travel to Northallerton.

To assist the police enquiries, officers are appealing to people in the Nortallerton, Bedale and Leeming area, in particular to bus passengers and staff, anyone who was using Northallerton railway station and taxi drivers, to contact them if they have seen a young man matching Charles’ description.

Charles is a pupil at Wensleydale School and Sixth Form College but did not attend college on the morning of Thursday 13 March 2014. He has not been heard from or seen since he left his home address at around 10.30am that day.

Charles was reported missing just after 5pm on Thursday night when his family became concerned after finding out he had not attended college and he did not return home when expected.

Police are now very concerned for Charles’ welfare and are appealing to anyone who may have seen him in the Leyburn, Bedale, Leeming and Northallerton areas since Thursday morning to contact them.

Charles is described as white, 5ft 6in tall, of slim build with short dark hair. He was wearing black board shorts and a blue hooded top when he was last seen.

Police are appealing for anyone who believes they have seen Charles or know where he is now, to contact them as a matter of urgency.
