Urgent appeal to find missing 17-year-old from Leyburn


Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a 17-year-old boy from Leyburn.

Missing Charles Iveson, 17, from Leyburn has been found safe in Northallerton this morning (14 March 2014).

Charles Iveson is a pupil at Wensleydale School and Sixth Form College but did not attend college this morning (13 March 2014) and has not been heard from or seen since he left his home address at around 10.30am today.

Charles-IvesonCharles was reported missing just after 5pm tonight when his family became concerned after finding out he had not attended college and he did not return home when expected.

Police are now very concerned for Charles’ welfare and are appealing to anyone who may have seen him in the Leyburn or Bedale areas since Thursday morning to contact them.

Charles is described as white, 5ft 6in tall, of slim build with short dark hair. He was wearing black board shorts and a blue hooded top when he was last seen.

He is a keen runner and may have headed to local beauty spots in the area including Pen Hill, Thornborough Woods, Leyburn Shawl and woods in the Grewelthorpe area.

Police are appealing for anyone who believes they have seen Charles or know where he is now, to contact them as a matter of urgency.

Officers are currently carrying out searches in the local area.
