Appeal after serious collision in Knaresborough

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered serious head injuries as a result of a collision in Knaresborough in the early hours of this morning.

At around 12.30am on Wednesday 22 January 2014, a silver Mercedes C-Class collided with a tree on Stockwell Road near the junction with St Margaret’s Road.

The driver of the car, a local man in his thirties, was taken to Harrogate District Hospital with leg and serious head injuries.

The passenger, a local man in his twenties was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with facial injuries.

No other vehicles were involved.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and for anyone who saw a silver Mercedes driving through Knaresborough in the minutes leading up to the crash to contact them.
