Updated: Police issue image of shoplifting suspect in Ripon

Ripon police have released a CCTV still of a woman they need to trace following an act of shoplifting in the city.

Update 10 December 2013 – the individual in the released CCTV has now been identified and investigations are ongoing.

The incident occurred at around 1.30pm on Monday 28 October 2013, at the Home Bargains store, in the Market Place.

It is believed the woman entered the shop and placed cosmetics in her trolley, before leaving the premises without paying for them.

The woman is described as being white, with a large build and long brown hair.

PC Leah Champion, of Ripon Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

If you are the woman caught on CCTV and you are not responsible for this theft, please contact me as soon as possible, so that I can eliminate you from my enquiries.

I am also keen to speak to anyone who can identify the suspect and ask them to get in touch.
