Appeal to find black Peugeot 206 seen in York

York police have issued an urgent appeal for witnesses and sightings of a black Peugeot 206 following an incident in York this morning, Monday 2 December 2013.

The car, registration number BV52FLE, was seen in Bad Bargain Lane at around 9am before driving off towards Ashleigh Park.

A member of the public called the police after they believe they saw a distressed woman get into the car.

Officers are anxious to confirm the woman safe and well. However, after extensive enquiries throughout the day they have yet to trace the vehicle or the occupants.

It is possible that the there is an innocent explanation surrounding the incident, but officers will not be satisfied until this is confirmed Police are asking members of the public to call them if they have seen the vehicle today or know where it is now.

They are also appealing for the occupants of the car to get in touch if they see or read this appeal.

Anyone with any information is asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1, and pass information to the Force Control Room.
