Police confirm mother and son died following collision in East Yorkshire

North Yorkshire police have issued an update following the fatal collision on the B1248 between Wetwang and Malton on the morning of Wednesday 27 November 2013 in which three people died.

Police have confirmed the ages of the deceased who were travelling in the Ford Focus, they are a woman aged 40, a man aged 47 and a man aged 18. The woman and 18-year-old man are mother and son.

All three deceased were Hull residents, but their nationality is Polish. They were travelling to a bacon factory in Malton, where they worked.

The two men in their thirties who were also travelling in the Ford Focus remain in Hull Royal Infirmary. One man, aged 30, remains in a critical condition and the other, a 37-year-old man, remains in a serious condition with multiple fractures. Both injured men live in Hull and are also Polish nationals.

The driver of the Citroen van, a 48-year-old man from Pickering who was taken to York District Hospital, has since been discharged.
