Zimbabwe-born artist, Tamara Lawson has donated a painting to local charity, the Acorn Committee as a prize at the forthcoming Acorn Apres Ski party to be held at Ripley in December.

Tamara recently opened a gallery on Swan Road in Harrogate where she exhibits her own work and other paintings and sculptures. She regularly receives commissions from the UK, USA, South Africa and Australia, exhibiting both at her own gallery in Harrogate and in London.

Louise Hanen of the Acorn Committee said:

We were delighted when Tamara offered us this wonderful oil painting of Fewston as a prize for our Christmas party. The event is already a sell-out and we hope that this, along with our other prizes and auction lots will raise a considerable amount for our chosen charities.

The Acorn Committee raises funds for research into scleroderma disease at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and for people with dementia and their carers in Harrogate, Ripon and Wetherby through Dementia Forward.
