50-years’ service for Patelely Bridge pharmacy assistant

1 October 2013

Over 200 guests attended a party this month to celebrate pharmacy assistant, Margaret Kendrew’s 50 years service at Pateley Bridge Pharmacy in Yorkshire – a member of Alphega Pharmacy UK.

The event was organised by Samina Khan, pharmacy proprietor and was attended by local residents, loyal customers and pharmacy professionals.

Samina said:

Margaret is respected by colleagues and customers alike. Her experience is matchless and she is a very supportive mentor to the newer members of staff. She is also recognised locally as an “unsung hero” in recognition of her work with the elderly to ensure their well being.

Margaret said:

I have had a wonderful career, I remember when prescriptions and labels were handwritten and most medicines were compounded in the pharmacy so I have witnessed an industry that has completely changed. What hasn’t changed is the pleasure I have experienced serving the residents of Pateley Bridge during this time, many of whom have become close friends.

Mike Smith, Non-Executive Chairman, Alliance Healthcare UK, said:

Congratulations to Margaret and the team at Pateley Bridge Pharmacy on 50 years’ service. Margaret is a great example for the industry – a great knowledge of patients, comined with a wealth of compassion, sympathy, loyalty and integrity.

Pateley Bridge Pharmacy has been a member of Alphega Pharmacy since 2010. The pharmacy offers a range of services including Stop Smoking Service, Healthcare Advice, Flu Vaccination Service, Medicines Use Review Service and Dispensing for Nursing and Residential Homes.
