Harrogate Railway

Harrogate Railway 2 – 3 Ossett Albion

14 September 2013

Ossett Albion surprised everyone by racing into a three nil half-time lead.

Goals by Adam Muller and two by Dale Kelly from the 2nd from bottom team left shell-shocked Railway with a mountain to climb in the second-half. Despite the poor defending the Rail manager kept the same team on at the beginning of the second-half. With nothing really happening up front for the home side Billy Miller decided to make a double substitution.

This seem to have the desired affect as just after the hour mark Paul Beesley popped up to reduce the arrears. Ossett Albion could have increased their lead but for the efforts of home keeper Peter Crook but back came Rail and with less than 10 minutes to go Beesley pulled another goal back.

The referee added five minutes of injury-time on but despite some Rail pressure and an injury-time dismissal for Alex Metcalfe Rail couldn’t find an equaliser.
