Harrogate Railway

Harrogate Railway 0 – 1 Salford City

17 August 2013

In a fairly even encounter Salford City claimed all 3 points with a spectacular winner from substitute Wes Bancroft 8 minutes from time. Both attacks struggled to create any clear cut openings against two well drilled defences.

Rail probably edged the first half with a couple of half chances but neither keeper was seriously tested. It was pretty much the same story in the 2nd half despite some entertaining play from both sides. There were several bookings during the 90 minutes but it was never that type of game.

Just as though the game looked as though it was heading for a draw up popped substitute Wes Bancroft to half volley a shot from outside the area over debutant keeper Peter Crook to take all 3 points back to Salford.

Match Rating: 3 Star Player: Simon Parkes (Railway)
