Cyclist hurt in Harrogate collision

PolicePolice are appealing for information following a minor collision in Harrogate.

The incident happened at  around 6pm on Tuesday 9 July 2013, on Penny Pot Lane, near the Army Apprentices College and Jubilee roundabout.

Two cyclists were heading towards Harrogate town centre and as they passed a silver Toyota parked at the opposite side of the road, a Volkswagen Polo overtook it, forcing the cyclists to take avoiding action. 

As a result, a 44-year-old local woman fell from her bike and suffered bruising and grazes to her left hand side.

The 64-year-old local woman driving the Polo stopped at the scene.

Traffic Constable Steve James, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said:

If you were in the area near the Army Apprentices College at the time of the collision I ask that you come forward and contact the police as you may information about the incident that could help my investigation.
