Witness appeal following fatal collision near Harrogate

PolicePolice are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision near Staveley, Harrogate

It occurred shortly before 8pm on Friday 12 July 2013, involving a Porsche Boxster and a tractor.

At the time of the collision the Porsche was travelling from Staveley towards Copgrove, on Wath Lane, and the tractor was heading in the opposite direction.

As a result of the incident the man driving the Porsche was sadly pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

Police are not yet in a position to identify him.

The driver of the tractor suffered a head injury which is not life threatening.

Traffic Sergeant Julian Pearson, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said:

If you saw either of the vehicles involved in this collision just prior to the incident, I urge to come forward straight away, as you may have vital information that could help the investigation.
