Nidderdale’s cars are set to shine as specialist vehicle repair firm, MSA Autobodies, rides into New York Mills, Summerbridge

MSA Autobodies opened the doors to their new premises on Saturday, 25th May, celebrating the arrival of Nidderdale’s newest automotive repair centre with a display of custom hot-rods and classic Saabs.

Owner, Mark Ashton of Pateley Bridge, said:

Nidderdale and the Harrogate area has many excellent garages but it was clear that there was a real need for a dedicated car spraying and body fabrication facility. I have worked in vehicle repair shops for many years, spraying every type of make and model imaginable, from family run-arounds to classic American muscle cars. When I decided to go into business for myself, Summerbridge seemed like the ideal location, putting our workshop a short ride from Pateley Bridge, Ripon, Skipton and Harrogate.

Using their purpose built spray booth, MSA Autobodies offer a colour-matching service, essential for repairing accidental damage. Mark also uses his painting skills for more artistic purposes. In recent years, he has been asked to paint flames down the side of a scooter and paint effects, such as metal-flake “glitter”, to help customers’ vehicles stand out from the crowd.

With a particular passion for Saabs, Mark also strips down old vehicles and provides parts for other enthusiasts of the now defunct car manufacturer, helping to keep these distinctive vehicles on the road. Mark also writes a regular feature for Saab Driver Magazine offering body repair advice for fellow Saab fans.
