Man remanded in custody following Starbeck assault

PoliceA 61- year old remains in a stable but critical condition in Leeds General Infirmary following an assault in the Starbeck area of Harrogate.

A fresh witness appeal has been issued after a man appeared at court charged with assault.

The assault occurred just after 9pm on Thursday 2 May 2013, outside the Prince of Wales public house, on the High Street, Starbeck.

Mark Christopher Ross was arrested shortly after the incident and appeared at York Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 4 May 2013, charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent. He was remanded into custody and will appear at York Crown Court on Friday 10 May 2013.

Acting Detective Inspector Dave Horne, of Harrogate CID, said:
