MAWER

Police officers in Harrogate have today released an image of Stuart Mawer, aged 36, of Wetherby Road, Harrogate, and are urging people to contact them if they see him.

Mawer is wanted in connection with a break-in at a house in Bishop Monkton in November 2012, during which around £4,000 worth jewellery was stolen.

Police have made extensive enquiries in an effort to trace Mawer and are now asking for the public’s assistance.

He is described as white, with short dark hair.

Detective Sergeant Fionna McEwan, of Harrogate police, said:

I am appealing to anyone who knows where Stuart Mawer is to contact the police or Crimestoppers with information.

We need to question him in connection with a burglary and the support of the public could prove vital in locating him.

I would advise Mawer to hand himself in, as the longer he evades the police the more difficult things will be for him when we do catch up with him.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 1 – and pass information to the Force Control Room.

If you wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111.
