Harrogate man runs London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK

Simon-WatsonSimon Watson, 52, from Harrogate raised over £300 for Parkinson’s UK, when he ran the London Marathon on Sunday 21 April.

Simon completed the 26.2 mile challenge in 3 hours and five minutes, on the last day of Parkinson’s Awareness Week (15-21 April). Simon joined a 195 strong team of athletes who were running for Parkinson’s UK.

Other Parkinson’s UK runners included celebrity comedian Rob Deering. Despite battling against ‘marathon flu’, Rob ran in support of his dad who has Parkinson’s.

Parkinson’s UK hopes to raise over £310,000 to enable it to continue to fund vital research work to find a cure, and improving the lives of the 127,000 people in the UK who are living with Parkinson’s.
