Police investigate Northallerton High Street assault

PoliceNorthallerton police investigating an assault in the town.

It occurred between midnight and 1am on Saturday 30 March 2013, on the High Street, near the Mason’s Arms public house, when a 31-year-old local woman was attacked.

As a result of the incident the victim was knocked to the ground. She suffered a suspected broken cheekbone, serious bruising to her face and a black eye, which needed treatment at the Friarage Hospital and will require further treatment.

Two local women aged 18 and 21 arrested in connection with the incident have been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.

PC Michael Wilson, of Northallerton Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

This was a nasty assault which left the victim with injuries requiring ongoing medical treatment.

If you were in the area at the time of the assault I urge you to come forward and contact the police or Crimestoppers.
