Harrogate man robbed outside Asda

asda HarrogatePolice are appealing for information after a Harrogate man was robbed outside Asda in Bower Road, Harrogate at around 2.30pm on Sunday 17 March 2013.

A man attacked the 70-year-old victim and pushed him to floor before running off with his wallet containing cards and an amount of cash.

The victim was taken to Harrogate District Hospital where he is receiving treatment for a broken hip.

Detective Constable Rebecca Smith of Harrogate CID, said:

This was a shocking incident which left the elderly victim with a serious injury and extremely distressed.

I am appealing to anyone who saw the incident take place to contact the police as soon as possible.
