North Yorkshire stays ahead on school places

4 March 2013

County HallThis year over nine out of 10 parents (93.6 per cent within North Yorkshire) secured their first secondary school preference across the county, continuing the high percentages of recent years.

All children have received an offer of a school place and over 98 per cent of North Yorkshire’s children were accepted into one of their preferred choices of secondary school.

County Councillor Arthur Barker, North Yorkshire’s executive member for schools said:

Once again, this is good news for North Yorkshire.

We are delighted that so many of our families have been able to gain their first preference from their choice of schools.

As a local authority we work with schools across the county to make sure all of them deliver the highest standards of education so that families who are not given first preferences will nevertheless be able to send their children to good schools.
