Fire started through letterbox in Ripon

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Willow Walk Ripon on 22 February 2013 at 23:45 following reports from the police that lit paper had been put through a properties letterbox.

On arrival crews found that there had been a small fire in the corridor of the property.

The fire had been to a small amount of paper which had been lit and put through the letterbox. Smoke alarms were in the property which alerted the occupant.

The fire was out on arrival of crews, however it caused some fire damage to the door and door mat.
