Wanted man ‘still in York’

6 February 2013

Ryan-McleodDetectives searching for wanted man Ryan MacLeod believe that he is still in York and are appealing to the public to help find him.

MacLeod, aged 21, is wanted by the police in connection with a violent assault at the Castle Howard Ox pub, in The Groves area of the city, in November 2012. He is also wanted for recall to prison after breaching the terms of his release licence.

Officers have made numerous public appeals to trace MacLeod and have been making extensive enquiries in and around York in an effort to find him but he has so far evaded arrest.

The police are also warning anyone helping MacLeod to escape justice is also committing an offence and face being arrested.

Detective Inspector Dave Kirby, of York police, said:

We know Ryan MacLeod is still somewhere in York and we know there are people out there who know where he is.

If you are one of the people who is helping MacLeod to avoid the police, when we eventually catch up with him we will take action against you as well.

MacLeod has important questions to answer about a serious assault and I urge the public to get in touch if they see him or know where he is.

Anyone who can help officers to locate Ryan MacLeod is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for York police.

If you wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111.
