Scenes from around Yorkshire provided the inspiration for the winners of Knaresborough Camera Club’s chairman’s choice competition.
This year’s subject – trees – saw members producing high standard images for the contest which was judged by Bob Free from Leeds Co-operative Photographic Society.
Andrew Munden took first place in the projected section with his photograph entitled Big Fish taken at Yorkshire Sculpture Park and inspired by the scene used to promote the book and Ewan McGregor film of the same name. Janet Tankard’s Flaming November, taken in South Craven, was the projected plus award winner while Richard Littlefair won the print section award with his image Tree in the Snow, taken near Newby Hall.
Club chairman Richard Bryant said:
We have three worthy winners — the quality of their images is superb and the way in which each photographer has worked with composition and, in some cases, challenging lighting conditions, is to be commended.
It’s hugely satisfying to see our members setting new standards for the club.
