Man confirmed to have died in collision near Kirkby Overblow

PoliceThe A658 near Kirkby Overblow remains closed while police investigate a serious collision which occurred just before 4pm today (28 January 2013)

The collision involved a foreign registered Ford Focus and a Toyota 4 x 4 which was towing a trailer.

Sadly, the male passenger in the foreign registered Ford died at the scene of the collision.

The driver of the Ford and the driver of the Toyota, both male, have both been taken to hospital.

The Toyota was travelling towards Buttersyke Bar, and the Ford was travelling in the opposite direction.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles prior to the collision, is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting reference number 298 of 28 January.

The road is expected to remain closed for at least another three hours to allow collision investigators to examine the scene and for the vehicles to be recovered.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service, the Air Ambulance and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene of the collision.
