Christmas Party brings total raised to £850,000

The Acorn Moonlight in Marrakech party which took place in a PapaKata tent in Harrogate raised over £22,000 bringing the total raised by the charity to over £850,000 since the charity started in 1999.

The evening was attended by 360 guests who enjoyed dinner by well-known chef, Michael Kernall Catering, an auction and grand draw with dancing to local band, The Dan Burnett Band and a disco.

The auction was conducted by Tim Waring of Knight Frank and prizes in the auction and grand draw included a trip to the Marrakech and holidays to Majorca and the French Alps as well as a diamond pendant kindly donated by Berry’s Jewellers.

The Acorn Committee raises funds for people with dementia and their carers in the Harrogate and Ripon area and for research into scleroderma disease at Leeds General Infirmary.
