The victim, a 16-year-old local girl, was sitting in a glass bus shelter outside York Train Station at around 3.15pm on Monday 29 October 2012 when she was approached by a man who kissed her on the cheek and then again on the neck.

The man, who was drinking from a can of lager, is described as white, around 5ft 2in tall with balding, short brown hair. He was scruffily dressed in a blue jacket and light blue jeans.

It occurred at a busy time of day, in a busy area of the city, therefore it is possible that someone saw what happened and has information that can help the investigation.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Paul Sutton or York police.
