Luxury cars taken in spate of Harrogate two-in-one burglaries

Between 11pm on 16 October and 6.20am on 17th October, in Hutton Gate, Harrogate a white BMW X1 was stolen after the offender took the keys from the Hall table by unknown means, entered the property and took personal items including a handbag before stealing the householder’s car.

During the same evening between 9pm and 5.40am, offenders broke into a property in Rhodes Drive through the back door and took personal items including a handbag, a computer and the keys to an Audi S3 parked outside, which they also stole.

This type of offence is known as a two-in-one burglary and luxury cars are often the target of this type of crime. Police are advising homeowners to always hide their keys out of sight, and away from windows, doors and cat flaps.

Officers have been carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the local area and are appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious overnight or has any information about the thefts to contact them.
