Knaresborough 24 August 2012 – Knitting Pretty won the 2012 cup for the best dressed window during the 10-day Knaresborough FEVA celebrations. The shop, just off the market place, also used its FEVA display to raise £150 for the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity.

Proprietor Di Watson said:

Our window display was full of knitted toys which were sold for the charity.

Many people bought items and we had to get them to let us keep the display intact until the festival was over. It was great to have so much fun during FEVA, do some good for a worthy cause and be recognised in this way.

FEVA chairman John Minary was delighted to reward Knitting Pretty’s initiative said:

This is a lovely example of how becoming involved in the FEVA best dressed window competition can help others.

It shows how the community all pulls together.

The competition was judged by the FEVA organising committee and members of the Town’s Youth Council. Wild Orchid and Gloss tied for second place, and Scope and Sue Ryder tied for third.

Knaresborough’s FEVA was held between 10 and 19 August and in terms of tickets sold and the amount of events arranged was the biggest yet. It featured music, dance, plays, talks, walks, workshops, special menus, art shows, street entertainment and a beer festival, and culminated in the day-long Picnic in the Park.
