Henshaws students fired up by torch relay

20 June 2012

As the Olympic torch sparkled its way through the streets of Knaresborough some of the loudest cheers came from art makers at Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre, Bond End, and students from Henshaws College who lined the pavements to cheer on the runners.

Henshaws works with people who are affected by visual impairments and other disabilities across the North of England, including local community housing services, a specialist further-education college in Harrogate and the Knaresborough-based Arts & Crafts Centre.

The students took their participation even further by staging their own mini-Olympics at the College with a tug o’ war, egg and spoon and other races and challenges.
