The mini Olympians, who ranged from 2 to 5 years old, had their sporting interests encouraged by taking part in a range of events including Dressage, Team Rowing, Gymnastics and High Jump.

Each child received a medal for taking part in the event with activities culminating in a torch run around the playing field, with specially designed torches created by the children themselves. Parents enjoyed refreshments at the event whilst supporting the children involved.

Penny Johnson, Playgroup Leader, explained:

The children have had a very productive and fun week leading up to what has been a really well supported community event. During the week we have used the Olympic theme, linking our creative and sporting activities to important areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

All the children were very proud of their achievements and we’d like to thank everyone who took part in such as successful event.
