Harrogate motorcycle rider in hospital following Craven collision

PoliceA Harrogate man has been injured in a collision on the A59

It occurred at just after 7.30am on Thursday 3 May 2012, close to a lay-by between Bolton Bridge and Draughton. It involved a black Yamaha motorcycle heading towards Skipton and Mitsubishi Pajero van towing a trailer.

Following the collision a black Land Rover stopped at the scene and the driver spoke with the van driver –  they had left the area before the arrival of the emergency services.

The man driving the Mitsubishi was not injured in the collision.

Traffic Sergeant Peter Stringer, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said:

I am urging the driver of the land rover, who stopped at the scene of the collision, to come forward and contact the police straight away. I believe that they have vital information about the incident.

I would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles prior to the incident. I ask them to contact the police as soon as possible.
