Encourage your children to act up

2 May 2012

Parents, make the most of your toddler acting up: you can now discover a budding Shirley Temple or Daniel Radcliffe early on, as this summer the award-winning Harrogate Youth Theatre starts a new weekly project for 3- to 5-year-olds.

Harrogate Youth Theatre: Early Years is a five-week series of workshops run by founder of Little Drama theatre company Niki Morton, which gets young children involved in story-telling adventures through acting, song and play, with each week taking a different tale as its basis.

Parents are welcome to stay and there will be complimentary tea, coffee and squash available.

Early Years begins on Monday 11 June and runs until Monday 9 July. Places on the five-week season cost £24 or £15 for those on IBA.

To find out more or to book a space, contact Jonquil Claughan at Harrogate Theatres on 01423 502710 or visit us at www.harrogatetheatre.co.uk

Also, it’s not all fun and games for kids at Harrogate Theatres – there’s science too. Little boffins (8-years-old upwards) will get their brains entertained and educated at Science Museum: Live On Tour! (Royal Hall, Friday 4 and Saturday 5 May).

From the producers of Braniac and Dr Bunhead, this explosive ride for all the family takes in spectacular science, dangerous demonstrations and extraordinary experiments.
