Expensive machinery stolen from farm near Ripon

PoliceExpensive machinery has been stolen from a Ripon farm and police are appealing for witnesses.

Between 8pm on Thursday 15 March and 8am on Friday 16 March 2012 a plasma steel cutter and a compressor were stolen from a farm building on Micklebury Lane in Fearby.

A bolt was cut off the outer door of the building before cutting the padlocks off a container inside to gain access to the yellow Cutskil 35 cutter worth £490 and the compressor which is valued at £500.

PC Jayne Lambert, of Ripon police, is appealing for witnesses to come forward:

I am urging anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the area at the time of the theft to contact the police or Crimestoppers with information.

I would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered any similar items for sale in recent weeks.

Anyone who can help the investigation is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Jayne Lambert or Ripon police.
