More arrests made in Fattorini Jewellery robbery investigations

24 March 2012

Two further arrests have been made following the Fattorini jewellery store robbery in Harrogate.

On Friday 23 March 2012, North Yorkshire Police arrested a 27-year-old man from Harrogate and a 17-year-old youth (male) from Leeds. They both remain in police custody for questioning and now bring the arrest count to three.

The 26-year-old man from Leeds who was previously arrested has been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.

The robbery took place at around 10.30am on Tuesday 20 March when two men dressed in black and wearing masks or balaclavas got out of a silver Vauxhall Astra parked opposite the store.

They forced their way into the shop using a sledgehammer to force the door off its hinges. Once inside the shop they stole several items of high-value jewellery including a number of Rolex watches. No-one was harmed during the incident.

The two suspects were then driven away from the scene by a third man inside the Vauxhall Astra.

CCTV footage shows the Astra drive off along Parliament Street, Parliament Terrace, Montpellier Street and Montpellier Hill, before entering Valley Drive and being abandoned in Valley Road, Harrogate. The Astra has since been recovered by police.

Anyone with any information about the robbery who has not yet come forward is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Harrogate CID.

Alternatively, you can give information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
