Woman assaulted by youths in Harrogate

Between 6pm and 7pm on Saturday 25 February the woman was walking along St Mark’s Avenue towards Leeds Road when she was verbally abused by a group of three youths who then assaulted her and she fell to the ground.

Harrogate police are appealing for information following an alleged incident involving a woman in her forties on St Mark’s Avenue on Saturday 25 February 2012, although the incident could possibly have taken place the night before – Friday 24 February.

The woman sustained hand injuries as she fell but did not require hospital treatment.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in St Mark’s Avenue in Harrogate on Saturday evening, or the evening before (Friday 24 February 2012) and can recall seeing the incident take place. Or, anyone who saw any youths being abusive or running along St Mark’s Avenue on either of the evenings.

Police would also like to trace the occupants of white or cream coloured Mini with tinted windows which was parked on St Mark’s Avenue around the time of the incident as they could have information which could help the investigation.

The Mini occupants or anyone else with any information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Harrogate CID.
