Sudden death of Leeds Student

Adam Dixon LeedsAt 5.45am on Sunday (8 Jan 12) police received a report from the ambulance service of the sudden death of an 18-year-old male student at Leeds Metropolitan University halls of residence at Beckett Park, in Leeds.

The death is not being treated as suspicious. A post mortem examination took place yesterday and the results of toxicology tests are awaited.

The identity of the deceased is Adam Bradley Dixon, from Halifax. An inquest is due to open later this week.

Dave and Tracey Dixon, Adam’s parents said:

Adam was a wonderful son and brother, who we were extremely proud of. He touched the lives of all the people he met.
We are absolutely devastated by our tragic loss, and would ask that we be left to grieve in peace at this extremely sad time.

A 22-year-old man, from Headingley, has been arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs and is currently in custody.
