Charity Christmas Cards once again on sale at Thirsk Tourist Information

9 November 2011

Thirsk Tourist Information, located on the Market Place in Thirsk, is once again selling Charity Christmas Cards supplied by Cards for Good Causes Limited (CFGC). Sales of the initial delivery have gone so well a second, and final, delivery was made on 31st October.

A wide range of cards from 28 different charities are on sale, ranging from Animal charities, through armed services, children’s charities, disability support groups, medical research and much more. If you don’t support a particular charity they have a bumper pack which features one card from twenty of the charities at a very reasonable £3.99.

“Charity cards” sold by some national retailers, often donate only a few pence to your chosen charity but Cards for Good Causes pays the participating charities at least 75p in every pound, less VAT, from their card sales. The retained amount covers the cost of running CFGC’s temporary charity Christmas card shops.

Thirsk Tourist Information, a volunteer-run, not for profit operation, is open Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm, so visit them soon, support your favourite charity and check out the selection of small gifts, calendars, jigsaw puzzles and other items on sale. Thirsk Tourist Information will operate extended opening hours over the Thirsk Christmas Fayre weekend in at the end of November, but don’t wait until then to buy your Christmas cards as they may all be gone.
