Harrogate International Centre secures new deals

Harrogate International Centre has secured a number of new events which will bring in over £500K to the venue and significant economic benefit to the town and district.

The events, which are from the medical, education and financial sectors, are planned over the next four years and form part of an on-going programme of exhibitions and conferences already booked. The new deals include a four day conference, a four day exhibition and a two day annual meeting.

These latest wins come on the back of the recent announcement of a three-year contract securing the future of the Christmas & Gift and Nursery Fair at HIC.

Angus Houston, director at HIC, said:

These new wins are great news! We are welcoming a number of new clients to the venue as well as consolidating existing business with key clients. The conference and exhibition market remains challenging as budgets continue to be cut across the country but this new business proves we are starting to see some movement in the market, and reaffirms the attractive nature of Harrogate as a destination as well as a world class venue.

HIC hosts more than 150 events per year, bringing in over 290,000 visitors and contributing £180 million to the local economy. This year will see the opening of two new exhibition halls which will ensure the venue its title of largest integrated venue in the North.
